Abstract

The invention relates to a lamp cylinder and a lamp with the lamp cylinder. The lamp cylinder comprises a lamp hood, a lamp base assembly and a lamp cover. The lamp base assembly is contained in the lamp hood. The lamp cover is detachably installed at one end of the lamp hood. The lamp base assembly comprises a lamp base support and two lamp base installation plates. The two lamp base installation plates are installed on an installation portion of the lamp base support. The distance between the two lamp base installation plates is adjustable. Multiple types of lamp bases are correspondingly arranged on the two lamp base installation plates and can be matched with lamp holders of different types. Thus, different types of double-ended metal halides can be installed on the lamp cylinder. When use environments of the lamp change and the double-ended metal halides need replacing, the lamp cover is only needed to be detached at first, a proper lamp base is selected according to the type and the size of a double-ended metal halide for replacement and the distance between the two lamp base installation plates is adjusted to be proper. Finally, the double-ended metal halide for replacement is installed on the lamp base and then the lamp cover is installed again.
