Abstract

This technology supports batch ingestion of metadata related to consumables associated with applications supported by online servers. The online server publishes specifications defining metadata fields, allowed format values, and other parameters to facilitate bulk submission of metadata related to consumables. Metadata arranged according to the specification may be fed to the online server via a data stream or by submitting a document including metadata defining a plurality of consumables. The specification has been intelligently designed to account for the many different uses of consumer goods in applications supported by the server. As will be described further herein, the specification describes unique events regarding subscription content, in-app purchases, game performance and game prize consumables, and the like. Each category of consumer product can be submitted in the same file.
