Abstract

The invention relates to a method and nodes for managing network resources in a policy and charging system of a communication network, a system comprising at least one of said nodes, and a computer program providing optimization of telecommunications network resources and reducing memory usage. A method for managing network resources in a policy and billing system of a communication network comprising: receiving, at a second node, an indication related to a state of a server resource of a first node; determining a connection between a client and the second node whether the activity of the associated service session is below the activity threshold; and if the activity is determined to be below the activity threshold, indicating termination of bearer resources allocated to the service session.
