A low temperature based automatic emptier for a solar water heater is characterized in that a valve on an inflow pipe (2) of the solar water heater (1) and valves on thermal collector tubes (3) are provided with an electric controller (4) and a temperature detector (5); when the ambient temperature is lower than a set value, the electric controller (4) controls and closes the inflow pipe and opens the valves on the thermal collector pipes, water in the thermal collector pipes is emptied to prevent freeze-cracking; a remote transmission module (6) sends a reminder message to a remote number when an emptying mechanism is started; water pressure detectors (7) on the thermal collector tubes (3) determine that the specific pipe cracks when the water pressure is unbalanced; a prompting device sends out a prompt message when the thermal collector tubes crack.
