[0012] A variety of different systems and methods are included in locking double hook shackles. figure 1 One embodiment of a locking double hook shackle (LDC) 100 is shown. The LDC 100 includes a top hook 110 and a bottom hook 110 . A gate 120 is oriented to cover each hook 110 . Slide lock 130 provides locking of gate 120 of LDC 100 by sliding into a locked position in notch 140 . As clearly shown in the drawings, the slide lock 130 secures the gate 120 of the LDC 100 . Therefore, even when pressure is applied to the gates 120, these gates will not open. The sliding lock 130 may slide up and down along the gate 120 .
