Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a device for generating an electronic program guide (EPG) of hot programs. The method comprises the following steps: aiming at preset topics, carrying out hot statistics by EPG data, and obtaining hot statistic values of the topics; ranking the corresponding topics from high to low according to the obtained hot statistic values; extracting the top N topics, and obtaining the programs related to the extracted topics, wherein N is a preset positive integer; and generating the EPG of the hot programs according to the obtained programs and pushing the EPG to a user side to display. According to the method, the hot programs are summarized to generate the EPG which only includes the hot programs for users to examine; the process of searching the hot programs is relatively time-saving and labor-saving; and the users can view hot programs as many as possible within limited time.
