Abstract

The invention provides a centrifuge sample container and closure therefor. A closure (14) for attachment to a sample container(10) for use in a centrifuge(12) includes a top wall(34), an annular skirt wall(36) depending from the top wall(34) and defining a maximum outer diameter(D), and a handle(16) extending from the top wall(34) and including a central boss(46) and at least two finger grips(48) extending radially outward from the central boss. A respective free terminal end of each of the finger grips(48) is located so as not to extend beyond the maximum outer diameter(D).
