Abstract

A method and apparatus for using entropy labels in segment routing networks is disclosed. Single ELI and single EL are provided for use with label stacks. ELI and EL are inserted directly under the topmost label in the label stack. Additionally, a method and apparatus for using entropy labels in segment routing networks is described. Check the topmost label of the grouped label stack. Determine NHLFE for grouping. A determination is made as to whether the ELI is located under the topmost tab. When ELI is determined to be present, EL is reused. The ELI and reused EL were inserted directly under the label associated with NHLEF in the new label stack.
