Abstract

The text line extraction method of the invention comprises the following steps: extracting connected domains in an input document image; determining the potential link between the connected domains; adjusting a spanning tree constituted by the potential link; and optimizing a text line corresponding to the spanning tree based on the adjusted spanning tree to minimize the total difference between the characters in the text line.
