Embodiment Construction

[0036] Specific embodiments of the present invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0037] figure 1 with figure 2 An exploded view and an assembled side view of an exemplary spill-proof drinking container assembly 100 are shown. The drinking vessel assembly 100 includes a vessel 10 , an elastomeric seal 11 , a collar 20 and an annular seal 40 . The container assembly 100 is advantageous in helping young children and / or adults who may lack motor skill coordination transition to an open cup. Container assembly 100 allows a user to easily sip or drink from any location around rim 26 .

[0038] Figure 1 to Figure 2 The container 10 shown in is generally cylindrical about a central axis (A) and has a side wall 12 , a first open end 13 and a second closed end 14 . The first open end 13 of the container 10 has a central opening 13a adapted to receive fluid stored within the container 10 . It should be appreciated that conta...

Abstract

A spill-proof container assembly having a container, a collar and an annular seal from which drinking can occur anywhere around the rim of the container assembly. The collar has an inner frusto-conical wall with a circular upper end extending downwardly and inwardly to a closed lower end. The closed lower end has a protrusion extending outward from the center. The collar includes a support surface disposed along an inner surface of the upper edge of the circular upper end, and a fastening assembly disposed adjacent the bottom of the collar configured to securely fasten to the container. A plurality of passages are radially disposed about the protrusion in the inner frusto-conical wall for directing fluid. A plurality of radial protrusions are disposed radially adjacent to the support surface, defining various channels along the support surface.
