Abstract

The invention provides a method and a device for classifying network packet rule sets. The method comprises the following steps: determining a preset number of division significance bits from the network packet rule sets based on a preset method; generating a mask vector based on the preset number of division significance bits; and dividing the network packet rule sets according to the mask vector. According to the method provided by the invention, multiple network packet rule sets can be converted into a single network packet rule set by the mask vector, thereby greatly reducing the computation complexity, and thus the problem of slow classification speed of the network packet rule sets in related technology can be solved.
