Abstract

A sprinkler device includes a body, a flow control assembly, an operable part and a sprinkler head. The body can be held by the operator along the handle portion of the body. The handle portion includes a back configured to be held toward an operator during watering. A flow control assembly is housed in the body and may include a volume control assembly to control the volume of the flow of water through the sprinkler. An operable member may be attached to the front side of the handle portion for engagement with the flow control assembly to alternately activate and stop flow based on the position of the operable member. A sprinkler head may be attached to the water outlet of the body to direct water through the sprinkler head based on the sprinkler characteristics of the sprinkler head. The flat surface can be provided on the back. The planar surface lies on a plane transverse to the longitudinal midline of the back along the length of the back. The planar surface defines at least a portion of the range of motion of the flow control lever of the volume control assembly.
