Abstract

Systems and methods for estimating the state of a fuse are presented. In some embodiments, the disclosed systems and methods may be used to estimate the state of a fuse associated with a manual service disconnect associated with an energy storage system included in a vehicle. Consistent with embodiments disclosed herein, a method based on current event counting utilizing one or more time-weighted buckets associated with each current level can be used to estimate the life of an MSD fuse. In some embodiments, the MSD fuse end-of-life signal may be triggered when the total time associated in the time-weighted bucket exceeds a threshold.
