The method comprises the following steps: preparing medicinal material solution; preparing sample solution; preparing negative sample solution; using capillary tube sample applicator to spot samples on a same silica gel G thin layer plate; placing the thin layer plate into a chromatographic tank, using developer to develop, taking out, drying in air; checking the chromatoplate to obtain the results to be identified, the sample chromatoplate coincides with the medicine chromatoplate in corresponding positions by indicating fluorescent main spots with the same color. The method has the advantages of easy identification method and process, good separation effects and utmost specialization. The method further elevates the identification correctness of patchouli in traditional Chinese medicine compounds, bears great potential of the promotion and application in the field of medicine identification related with patchouli.
