Abstract

The separator includes porous heat resistance layers 11 that are disposed on front and back surfaces of the substrate and on opposite end portions of the substrate 10 in a width direction and that include inorganic filler particles and a binder. Further, a thickness of each of the porous heat resistance layers disposed on the opposite end portions of the substrate in the width direction is in a range of 5 to 5000 [mu]m and is equal to or more than the sum of thicknesses of the porous heat resistance layers 11 disposed on the front and back surfaces of the substrate.
