Abstract

The invention discloses a trapezoidal wave generating circuit used for a USB PD controller. The circuit comprises a square signal input, a first square wave generating circuit and a second square wave generating circuit which are connected in parallel, and switching circuits, wherein each of the first square wave generating circuit and the second square wave generating circuit is formed by a charging and discharging circuit and a current source circuit; the charging and discharging circuits and the current source circuits are connected to a power supply VDD in series at a ground terminal; the square signal input is respectively connected to two charging and discharging circuits; the switching circuits are connected behind the first square wave generating circuit and the second square wave generating circuit; and the two switching circuits are connected in parallel to output a trapezoidal wave signal VOUT together. The trapezoidal wave generating circuit realized by the invention can generate strong trapezoidal wave with more stable edge time and solves a problem of physical layer communication in a USB PD protocol and is particularly suitable for the USB PD controller.
