Abstract

The embodiment of the invention provides an application program probation method and a mobile terminal. The method comprises the steps that when probation operation for a new version of an application program in the mobile terminal is detected, installation documents and application data of an older version of the application program are backed up, and the older version of the application program is subjected to overlay installation according to installation documents of the new version of the application program; when recovery operation for the older version of the application program is detected, the installation documents of the older version are obtained, and the new version of the application program is subjected to overlay installation according to the installation documents of the older version; the application data of the older version is stored to a data storage path corresponding to the older version of the application. By means of the application program probation method and the mobile terminal, after probation, the new-version application program can be recovered into the older-version application program according to user operation, the probation requirements of a user for the new-version application program can be met, the original application data cannot be lost, and the upgrading risk of the application program is reduced.
