A typical lens barrel, such as the one shown here, includes a hollow cylindrical housing 30 having an inner wall 34 and an outer wall 36 . At least a part of the inner wall 34 of the lens barrel 24 is provided with a set of internal threads 42a, which will be further described below. The hollow portion of the cylindrical housing 30 forms a cavity 32, which may have any shape suitable for receiving the optical element 22 therein.
