During the dialysis treatment, the patient's blood flows through the blood chamber 3 of the dialyzer 1 , while the dialysate flows in reverse flow through the dialysate chamber 4 . The semipermeable membrane 2 of the dialyzer 1 separates the extracorporeal blood circuit I of the dialysis system from the dialysate system II.
