Embodiment 1

Abstract

The invention discloses a thickening composition for water-soluble polymer compounds, which comprises: dendritic or hyperbranched polyamines whose terminal amino groups are at least partly cationized; and clay. The thickening composition has high viscosity and good stability. Under the condition of a small amount of addition, it can replace conventional thickeners for thickening water-based coating compositions, and the thickening effect is obvious. The invention also discloses an aqueous coating composition comprising the thickening composition.
