The method comprises the steps of a provenance area acquiring step, namely acquiring the provenance area of a target sedimentary body and a lithological characteristic; a geological forward model determining step, namely acquiring seismic data of the target sedimentary body, and constructing a geological forward model of the target sedimentary body according to the seismic data, the lithological characteristic of the provenance area and the seismic reflection characteristic of the target sedimentary body; and a sedimentary body lithology determining step, namely determining the lithology of the target sedimentary body according to the geological forward model. The method has advantages of maximally overcoming ambiguity in sedimentary body lithology interpretation caused by no well region geomorphology, laying a solid basis and supplying an important insurance for oil gas exploration, and reducing an exploration risk caused by lithology interpretation errors.
