Problems solved by technology

As a result, the number of workers operating the system can be very high, which can make the process expensive
[0008] For at least these reasons, such as figure 1 The multi-conveyor packaging system shown can be inconvenient, inefficient, and expensive to operate

Embodiment Construction

[0029] This disclosure describes examples of conveyors and packaging systems that provide the above-referenced figure 1 The illustrated system 10 addresses the solution to the problem. For example, the presently disclosed system separates independent conveyor lanes from dedicated packaging machines such that the operation of each lane is not dependent on the continuous operation of a particular packaging machine. In contrast, a common conveyor (or conveyor system) with multiple lanes conveys biscuits independently of any particular packaging machine. A transfer device (eg, a robotic arm) selectively transfers the biscuits to the packaging machine. In this way, the biscuits can be transferred to the packaging machines without requiring a specific conveyor to transfer the biscuits to each specific packaging machine.

Abstract

A conveyor and packaging system includes an upstream conveyor that transports stacks biscuits in a plurality of lanes into buckets of a bucket conveyor. The bucket conveyor transports the buckets in adirection perpendicular to the length of the buckets to a packaging area, where transfer devices transfer the biscuit stacks to an input of a packaging machine. The transfer device can transfer the stacks without use of an intermediary conveyor.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims the benefit of US Provisional Application No. 62 / 205,458, filed August 14, 2015, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety. technical field [0003] The present disclosure generally relates to systems and methods for handling and packaging food products. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to systems and methods for handling baked food products between a baking station and a packing station. Background technique [0004] Baked food products formed during mass production may be transferred from the oven to the packing station via a conveyor. In one such process, baked biscuit products (eg, biscuits, cookies, crackers, pastries, etc.) are baked in an oven and then conveyed or moved to one of a series of separate conveyor lanes. [0005] figure 1 An exemplary layout of system 10 for such a process is shown. Such as figure 1 As shown, the output of the oven 20 lead...
