Problems solved by technology

This approach also interrupts continuous process measurements, which can lead to severe measurement blind times when performing system validation
Peak tracking methods can be susceptible to changes in background fluid composition as well as temperature and pressure
Also, while peak tracking can often be used to correct for linear frequency registration biases, it often provides little benefit in correcting nonlinear frequency registration biases

Embodiment Construction

[0029] Consistent with implementations of the present invention, multivariate analysis methods as described herein can be used to simulate and correct for frequency registration bias effects that may occur in spectroscopic analysis systems without requiring changes to the spectroscopic analysis system's existing hardware, using standard Periodic (or non-scheduled) instrument verification of gases, or dependence on peak tracking of compounds in fluid samples. In this way, stable, reliable and reproducible measurements can be achieved and maintained.

[0030] Although example implementations of the invention are described herein with respect to harmonic spectroscopy techniques using wavelength- or frequency-modulated tunable diode laser absorption spectrometers (TDLAS) or tunable semiconductor laser spectrometers, it should be understood that methods consistent with the invention can be used with Combination of analytical instruments or methods involving any quantitative spectro...

Abstract

A frequency registration deviation is quantified for a field spectrum collected during analysis by a spectroscopic analysis system of a sample fluid when the spectroscopic analysis system has deviatedfrom a standard calibration state. The field spectrum is corrected based on the frequency registration deviation using at least one spectral shift technique, and a concentration is calculated for atleast one analyte represented by the field spectrum using the corrected field spectrum. Related systems, methods, and articles are described.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application is related to and claims priority to US Patent Application No. 14 / 817,119, filed August 3, 2015, the entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference. technical field [0003] The present disclosure relates generally to spectroscopic analysis, and more particularly to methods for achieving and maintaining accurate and reproducible frequency and / or wavelength registration of absorption spectral data from a spectroscopic analyzer. Background technique [0004] One or more of degradation, drift, or non-reproducibility of the hardware of a spectroscopic analysis system can affect frequency and wavelength registration, and thus the accuracy and reproducibility of measurements made using such a system. These effects are usually unavoidable in practical applications of spectroscopic analysis. The hardware of the spectroscopic analysis system may include light sources (eg, lamps, lasers, etc.), e...
