The invention provides a backlight brightness adjustment method, a backlight brightness adjustment device, and a mobile terminal, wherein the method comprises the following steps of: detecting whetherthe backlight adjustment mode is a manual adjustment mode when receiving a light screen operation indication started to the mobile terminal in a state of off screen; if the backlight adjustment modeof the mobile terminal is the manual adjustment mode, acquiring a current first ambient brightness value and a second ambient brightness value stored when the screen is off; and if the absolute valueof the difference between the first ambient brightness value and the second ambient brightness value is greater than a preset threshold, adjusting the backlight brightness of the current screen to a first backlight brightness value corresponding to the first ambient brightness value.
