The image processing method comprises: determining a first area including a face in an infrared image; determining asecond area corresponding to the first area in a color image; determining a to-be-adjusted sub-area in the second area according to pixel parameters of the first area and the second area; and adjusting a pixel parameter of the to-be-adjusted sub-area according to the pixel parameter(s) of the first area and / or the second area. According to the method and apparatus, the pixel parameter of the colorimage can be supplemented through corresponding adjustment of the pixel parameter of the color image by employing the infrared image including the face so that accurate face recognition can be facilitated by employing the adjusted parameters.
