The method comprises the steps of stretching and cutting off a NbTi / Cu single-core rod to obtain NbTi / Cu single-core round rods; processing a copper sheath and upper and lower convers with matched sizes; stretching out a copper inserting rod and carrying out cutting and straightening to obtain a plurality of inserting rods; tightly arranging a plurality of NbTi / Cu single-core round rods into the copper sheath, filling the parts between the adjacent single-core round rods with the copper inserting rods, also filling the parts between the single-core round rods and the copper sheath with the copper inserting rods and sealing and welding the copper sheath and the upper andlower covers to obtain a NbTi / Cu composite sheath; and finally carrying out extrusion, repetitive stretching and multi-aging heat treatment to obtain the NbTi / Cu superconducting wire with high-uniformity core wires.
