Abstract

According to the present invention, mechanical vibration factors (in other words, external oscillation) delivered through a measurement frame of a towing carriage used for a test on a model vessel are measured and vibration having an antiphase to the measured vibration factors (in other words, antivibration) is generated and applied to the measurement frame of the towing carriage to minimize mechanical vibration, and then, resistance on the model vessel can be precisely measured. The model vessel resistance measurement system includes: an active vibration control device measuring and analyzing external oscillation applied through the measurement frame of the towing carriage, and generating vibration having an antiphase to the external oscillation to apply the vibration to the measurement frame; a resistance dynamometer connected with the model vessel to tow the model vessel as well as measure resistance on the model vessel; and a resistance measurement device collecting, analyzing and displaying a measurement signal outputted from the resistance dynamometer.
