Embodiment Construction

[0057]Described herein are systems, devices, and methods for the selective and rapid application of pulsed electric fields to ablate tissue by irreversible electroporation. In general, the systems, devices, and methods described herein can be used to generate large electric field magnitudes in desired regions of interest and reduce peak electric field values elsewhere to reduce unnecessary tissue damage and arcing. The irreversible electroporation system described herein may comprise a signal generator and a processor configured to apply one or more voltage pulse waveforms to a selected set of electrodes of an ablation device to induce the Energy is delivered regionally (eg, ablative energy for a group of tissues in the ostia of the pulmonary veins). The pulse waveforms disclosed herein can aid in the treatment of various cardiac arrhythmias (eg, atrial fibrillation). To deliver the pulse waveform generated by the signal generator, one or more electrodes of the ablation dev...

Abstract

Systems, devices, and methods for electroporation ablation therapy are disclosed, with the device including a set of splines coupled to a catheter for medical ablation therapy. Each spline of the setof splines may include a set of electrodes formed on that spline. The set of splines may be configured for translation to transition between a first configuration and a second configuration. Each spline of the set of splines in the second configuration may be petal shaped.
