Abstract

The disclosed teleconferencing method involves detecting howling conditions during a teleconference involving two or more teleconferencing client locations and a teleconferencing server. The teleconferencing server is configured to provide a full-duplex audio connection between the teleconferencing client locations. The howling state is an acoustic feedback state involving two or more teleconferencing devices in a certain teleconferencing client location. Detecting the howling state involves an analysis of both the spectral and temporal characteristics of the teleconference audio data. The disclosed teleconferencing method involves determining which client location is causing the howling condition and involves mitigating the howling condition or sending a howling condition detection message.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims International Patent Application No. PCT / CN2017 / 104604, filed September 29, 2017, U.S. Provisional Application No. 62 / 575,701, filed October 23, 2017, and European Patent Application No. 17201011.8, filed November 10, 2017 , each of which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety. technical field [0003] The present disclosure relates to the processing of audio signals. In particular, the present disclosure relates to processing audio signals associated with teleconferencing or video conferencing. Background technique [0004] Acoustic feedback is a type of feedback that occurs when there is an acoustic loop between an audio input (eg, a microphone) and an audio output (eg, a speaker). For example, a signal received by a microphone may be amplified and reproduced by a speaker. The reproduced sound from the speaker may then be picked up again by the microphone, further amplified, an...
