Abstract

An input device includes a keyboard system, the keyboard system includes a keyboard transmission line electrically connected to an integrated circuit, a keyboard sensing line electrically connected tothe integrated circuit, and the keyboard transmission line and the keyboard sensing line are selectively connectable by a switch incorporating the keyboard system. The input device also includes a capacitive touch system, wherein the capacitive touch system includes a touch transmission line electrically connected to the integrated circuit, and a touch sensing line electrically connected to the integrated circuit. The keyboard system and the capacitive touch system use at least one common component of an integrated circuit during operation, and the keyboard system and the capacitive touch system are concurrently operable.
