Problems solved by technology

This spinal cage insertion is performed using a tool called a spinal cage retainer, but this motion is hampered by the presence of multiple dangling guidewires in the area the surgeon is working in, and often by a narrow entrance connected to a collapsed degenerated disc become difficult

Embodiment Construction

[0029] For example, in Figure 1A with 1B An exemplary pedicle marker or pedicle guide wire marker 1 according to the present disclosure is shown in .

[0030] The pedicle marker 1 comprises an elongated tubular body 3 comprising a proximal end 5 (the end closest to the surgeon in use) for receiving a guide wire or a Kirschner wire GW and the Kirschner wire Distal end 7 through which exit is possible. The elongated tubular body 3 extends from a proximal end 5 to a distal end 7 .

[0031] The guide wire or Kirschner needle or Kirschner wire GW typically has a diameter between 0.9 and 1.5 mm and a length of about 40 cm. The guide wire is usually a solid, elongated wire, eg comprising or consisting of stainless steel. However, larger diameters are also possible.

[0032] The elongated tubular body 3 defines a channel 21 (see, for example Figure 1F ), the channel is configured to receive a guide wire or Kirschner wire GW, and the guide wire can pass completely through the c...

Abstract

The present invention concerns a pedicle marker (1) including an elongated tubular body (3) comprising a proximal end (5) for receiving a guide-wire (GW) and a distal end (7) through which the Kirschner-wire can exit, wherein the elongated tubular body extends from the proximal end to the distal end; and a plug (9) enclosing the elongated tubular body, the plug being located between the proximal end and the distal end. The elongated tubular body includes a non- threaded external surface extending at least from the plug to the distal end.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims priority from International Patent Application (Provisional) No. PCT / IB2018 / 054426, filed June 15, 2018, the entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference. technical field [0003] The invention relates to a pedicle marker, a pedicle guide wire marker or a Kirschner wire marker. The device may be inserted into a channel formed in a vertebra or pedicle (eg, the root of a vertebral arch) to mark the location of the channel formed in the vertebra or pedicle. [0004] The device may also be used to manipulate or manipulate vertebrae, such as displacing the vertebrae to allow insertion or adjustment of a spinal cage for spinal fusion between two or more vertebrae of the spine. Background technique [0005] Spinal screws associated with orthopedic rods are used to correct spinal deformities or treat spinal injuries. An orthopedic rod is placed and held in the heads of multiple spinal...
