Benefits of technology

The present technology described in this patents helps healthcare providers better manage pressure-related problems caused by bedsickness (bedding) sufferers without causing them harmful consequences like feeling unwell due to lack of sleepiness. By analyzing these factors along time, it becomes possible to predict potential future issues beforehand, allowing hospitals to take appropriate actions based upon current levels of stress awareness. Overall, this technology provides technical benefits over conventional methods used alone but also reduces costs associated with monitoring each individual's physiological status while providing accurate results.

Problems solved by technology

This patented describes different methods used during treatment planning to identify which individuals may be most likely affected while staying still unstable without feeling painful enough even if they don't move around freely. These techniques include measuring pressures from patient support surfaces like wheelchairs or crutches, analyzed data obtained through sensors attached to them, calculated factors associated with their impacts, identifying potential areas where stress causes damage, determining how severe the strains occur, developing tools and models capable of accurately predicting who will get hurt next time, implementing effective measures against pressure wounds, reducing false alarms, providing valuable insights about healthcare providers, educating caregivers, and guiding clinicians towards better decision-making strategies.

Abstract

The invention relates to a real-time dynamic prevention and detection system for pressure injury based on an optical sensor, and the system comprises a local pressed stimulation detection module whichis used for detecting local pressed stimulation information caused by at least one pressed part, in contact with a mattress, of a bedridden patient through an optical sensor array laid on the mattress, a patient activity feedback detection module which is used for acquiring activity information actively sent by the bedridden patient and/or successively sent in response to the local pressed stimulation information by utilizing the optical sensor array, and a pressure sore risk analysis module which comprises a discomfort perception analysis unit, a limb coordination analysis unit and a body function analysis unit, and can analyze and obtain the pressure sore susceptibility probability of the bedridden patient based on the local pressure stimulation information and the activity informationin combination with a stored medical database.
