The method comprises the following steps: acquiring SEKRIT parameters of a ProtonMail encrypted mail; decrypting the SEKRIT parameters, and obtaining a decrypted character string; obtaining a private key based on the decrypted character string and the currently logged user name; and decrypting the ProtonMail encrypted mail based on the private key to obtain the mail content of the ProtonMail encrypted mail. According to the method and the device, after the SEKRIT parameters in the ProtonMail encrypted mail are decrypted, the private key is obtained in combination with the user name, so that the mail content is safely obtained based on the private key, the personal privacy data of the user is protected, and lawless persons are effectively prevented from stealing the user data.
