Abstract

An apparatus configured to be head-worn by a user, includes a screen configured to present graphics for the user; a camera system configured to view an environment in which the user is located; and a processing unit coupled to the camera system and configured to obtain the locations of features for an image of the environment, wherein the locations of the features are identified by a neural network; determine a region of interest for one of the features in the image, the region of interest having a size that is less than a size of the image; and perform a corner detection by using a corner detection algorithm to identify a corner in the region of interest.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates to a head-mounted image display device, and a method and apparatus for detecting corner points in an image generated by the head-mounted image display device. Background technique [0002] Modern computing and display technologies have facilitated the development of "mixed reality" (MR) systems for so-called "virtual reality" (VR) or "augmented reality" (AR) experiences, in which digitally reproduced Presented to users in a way that looks real or can be perceived as real. VR scenes typically involve the presentation of digital or virtual image information, opaque to actual real-world visual input. An AR scene typically involves presenting digital or virtual image information as an enhancement to the visualization of the real world around the user (ie, transparent to the real world visual input). Thus, AR scenarios involve the presentation of digital or virtual image information that is transparent to real-world visual i...
