Embodiment Construction

[0020] figure 1 Shown is a swimsuit 1 formed from sewn together woven outer regions 2A, 2B, 2C and 2D of material available under the trade mark NYLON ELASTANE. This material has a high resistance to the penetration of ultraviolet light, so it can provide some protection to the wearer's skin from sun damage. The swimsuits shown are designed for children weighing 12 to 16 kg and aged between 3 and 4 years. It completely covers the child's body when zipped up and has openings through which the child's neck, arms and legs can protrude.

[0021] A zipper fastener 3 is provided at the back of the swimsuit for closing the rear opening 4 when the child puts on the swimsuit. An optional slit fastening strap 5 is made of VELCO (trademark) and attached to one side of the swimsuit neck opening, it is designed to pass through a plastic ring 5A attached to the other side of the neck opening , and then fold back on itself to fasten it on itself. If the zipper fastener 3 is fully extende...

Abstract

A swimwear garment made of ultra-violet resistant material encloses the body of a child when fastened-up, and has a back zip (3), sleeves (2A), leg openings and a neck opening (4). The garment incorporates buoyant panels (8) at its back and a front panel (11) which are formed with crease lines (9, 10, 14, 16) enabling them to conform closely to the child's chest without obstructing its movements during swimming. A flexible soft neck roll (6) of closed-cell, buoyant, foamed plastics material encircles the child's neck and holds the chin above water.

Description

technical field [0001] This invention relates to swimwear, and more particularly to swimwear that serves three functions, namely, to enhance the buoyancy of the swimwear; to provide the least amount of resistance to the movement patterns that a swimmer must master to swim properly; and to prevent at least the swimmer's mid-body Protect from harmful direct sunlight. Background technique [0002] Recently research has been carried out on the development of swimming garments which cover at least the middle of the swimmer's body so that only the swimmer's head, arms and legs are directly exposed to harmful sunlight. Clothing materials are selected to be at least partially resistant to harmful ultraviolet light. The arm and leg portions of the garment typically cover the upper portions of the swimmer's arms and legs. The garment itself is neutrally buoyant and conforms to the swimmer. It is almost always held in place by a zipper that runs from the swimmer's neck down to the l...
