Embodiment Construction

[0036] An embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. FIG. 1 is a block diagram illustrating a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system. This MRI system is an example of an embodiment of the present invention. The configuration of this MRI system represents an example of such an embodiment of the invention. The role of the MRI system is representative of one method performed in this embodiment of the invention.

[0037] As shown, the MRI system includes a magnetic system 100 . The magnetic system 100 includes a main magnetic coil assembly 102 , a gradient coil assembly 106 , and a radio frequency (RF) coil assembly 108 . These coil components are substantially cylindrical in shape and coaxially arranged. The imaging target 1 lies on the carriage 500 and is sent into or out of the substantially cylindrical inner space (hole) of the magnetic system 100 by a delivery device not shown in the figure.

Abstract

An object of the present invention is to perform multiple slice imaging accompanied by saturation irrespective of the inhomogeneity of static magnetic field strength. An error of a peak resonant frequency of spins at each slice position is measured. A maximum value is extracted from among errors of peak resonant frequencies of spins in all slices relative to a center frequency with the peak resonant frequency of spins in water between the center frequency and the peak resonant frequency of spins in fat. Spins are excited at a frequency that deviates from the center frequency towards the peak resonant frequency of spins in water by a value calculated by adding the maximum value to a theoretical change in a peak resonant frequency stemming from a chemical shift.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a spin excitation method, a magnetic resonance imaging method and a magnetic resonance imaging system. More particularly, the present invention relates to a spin excitation method for producing multi-slice tomographic images, a magnetic resonance imaging method and a magnetic resonance imaging system. Here, a spin with one of the two peak resonance signals in one target is saturated and a spin with the other peak resonance frequency is utilized, in which target two magnetic resonances with different frequencies are generated based on the chemical shift Signal. technical background [0002] In a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system, an imaging target is placed within a bore of a magnetic system, ie into an imaging volume in which a static magnetic field is generated. Magnetic field gradients and high-frequency magnetic fields are applied to the target to excite spins in the target. This causes the spins to generate a magne...
