Abstract

A washing machine comprising a casing having a box-shaped body defining its frame and upper and lower plates. The upper plate is attached to the upper part of the main body, and the lower plate is attached to the lower part of the main body. The lower plate is combined with the lower reinforcing plate to strengthen the lower portion of the rear surface of the main body. The washing machine of the present invention reduces the number of parts, thereby making the housing easy to manufacture and improving productivity. In addition, in the washing machine, the lower plate and the lower reinforcing plate are made of thin steel plates when manufacturing the outer shell, thereby reducing the manufacturing cost of the outer shell.
