In this first embodiment, the alert condition is initiated upon a failure of receipt of one of the identifiers. In a second embodiment, none of the transmitters are activated until it is submerged, the initial identifier configuration consists of no transmitter identifiers present. In this second embodiment, the alert condition is initiated upon receipt of a transmitter identifier. The system can also include a real time clock to record the time of an alert condition and/or a satellite positioning system to record the location of an alert.
