Abstract

The present invention relates to an inkjet image forming apparatus and a method of compensating for defective nozzles in the inkjet image forming apparatus. By analyzing the ejection state of the nozzles ejecting ink at the compensation position and the positions adjacent to the compensation position, the compensation position is the position printed with the defective nozzle, and according to the ejection state of the nozzle, by the ejection and compensation position. Ink of different color from the ink of the defective nozzle mixes the ink ejected at the adjacent position to the compensation position to compensate the defective nozzle.
