[0007] According to the invention, the wind turbines in the wind park are not automatically disconnected if the wind turbines are operating at substantially zero power output level. Before a wind turbine is disconnected, it is first determined whether at least one of the other wind turbines of the wind park is operating above a predetermined power output level. With this step it is determined whether the entire wind park is operating at approximately zero power output level or, in an extreme case, only the respective wind turbines which are being operated at approximately zero power output level. Therefore, other wind turbines in the wind farm also serve as sensors or detectors for detecting the current operating state of the wind farm.
