Provided are apparatuses and methods for transmitting and receiving ESG fragments containing identification information. In one example, the identification identifies a mobile operator. For example, the identification information may include a Mobile Network Code (MNC), Mobile Country Code (MCC), or name corresponding to the mobile operator. In another example, the identification information may also contain a web address corresponding to a web page associated with the mobile operator. For example, the identification information received in the ESG fragment may be compared to stored identification information at a receiver. Based on the identification information in the ESG fragment and stored identification information, a corresponding web page may be provided. Also, a program or service corresponding to the ESG fragment may be filtered based on the identification information in the ESG fragment and stored identification information.

Methods and systems for transmitting electronic service guide (ESG) data to a mobile terminal are described. The method for delivery of ESG data comprises steps of receiving ESG data, encapsulating metadata associated with the ESG data to generate a new ESG object, replacing a current ESG object with the new ESG object, transmitting the new ESG object in a carousel, and transmitting a notification of a change in the carousel. Another method for receiving ESG data comprises steps of receiving a notification of a change in a carousel, receiving a new ESG object in the carousel, replacing a current ESG object with the new ESG object, extracting metadata associated with ESG data from the new ESG object, storing the ESG data and metadata, and updating an ESG on a mobile terminal with the ESG data.

A mobile information communicating terminal device having a video camera includes a camera receiver unit pivotally supported in a vertical direction with respect to an upper edge face of the device. When the device is employed as a video camera, the camera receiver unit is rotated about a vertical axis to a position in which a video camera portion of the camera receiver unit is located at a back side of the device. A single-chip multi-band RF receiver in a mobile terminal comprising UHF and L-band front-ends receives and amplifies an RF signal utilizing an LNA integrated into the front-end that corresponds to the type of signal received. A received signal strength indicator (RSSI) value may be determined for the amplified signal within the single-chip receiver and may be utilized to adjust a gain of the LNA. The adjustment may be made via on-chip or off-chip processing of the RSSI value. The single-chip receiver may directly convert the amplified signal to a baseband frequency signal and generate in-phase and quadrature components. The components of the baseband frequency signal may be filtered and/or amplified via programmable devices within the single-chip receiver. Circuitry within the single-chip receiver may be controller via an on-chip digital interface.

A system and method of reducing a channel switching delay in TDM mobile television systems comprises transmitting a sequence of data bursts associated with channels for reception on a RF channel bandwidth received on a mobile television receiver; switching between an active state of transmission and a non-active state of transmission during reception of channels on the RF channel bandwidth, wherein the active state of transmission comprises transmission of data bursts associated with user-preferred channels and the non-active state of transmission comprises transmission of data bursts associated with user non-preferred channels; anticipating a particular user-preferred channel that a user will likely switch to during reception of channels on the RF channel bandwidth; decoding the sequence of data bursts during the active state of transmission; buffering one decoded data burst for each of the user-preferred channels; and replacing a previously buffered data burst with a newly buffered data burst.

If desired, battery power consumption is then reduced by again turning off the tuner. The tuner is again turned on to receive another burst.
