combing or other
cutting device includes a body having a
handle, a head portion, a hair
cutting appliance, and a camera oriented toward the hair
cutting appliance. A camera captures an image of a
skin region and a hair region of a user, and a processor detects each of the
skin region and the hair region based on the image. A boundary is defined between the
skin region and the hair region. The processor determines, based on the boundary, a control state that causes the processor to implement one or more algorithms that control operation or characteristics of the intelligent personal
combing device or other cutting device, including, for example, activating the cutting appliance to cause the cutting appliance to remove hair in a hair region of the user.
