Embodiment Construction

[0022] FIG. 1 schematically shows an aircraft 1 . The engines carried by the wing system 2 of said aircraft 1 are not shown. The vertical tail unit 5 and the horizontal tail unit 6 are arranged at the position of the rear end 4 of the fuselage 3 of the aircraft 1 . The vertical tail unit 5 is equipped with an engine 7 . The axis A1 of the engine is parallel to the axis A2 of the aircraft 1 . Air enters the engine 7 through the air intake 8 . The air passes through the engine 7 up to the rear end 10 of said engine 7 carrying the propeller 9 . The air expelled from the engine 7 at the position of the rear end 10 thus causes the propeller 9 to turn.

[0023] The assembly of the vertical tail unit 5 and the engine 7 is shown in more detail in FIG. 2 . The engine 7 is integrated with the fins 11 of the vertical tail unit 5 via a bracket 12 . The bracket 12 is fixed on the main body 13 of the fin 11 . The engine 7 is mounted on said bracket 12 so as to extend cantilevered ove...

Abstract

The invention concerns a vertical tail unit (5) for an aircraft (1). The vertical tail unit is provided with an engine (7). The engine extends cantilevered beyond a fin (11) of the vertical tail unit and is secured to said fin by a mount (12). Said mount is at least partly attached to the fin. The mount comprises for example half-hoops (17) arranged on either side of the fin. The invention also concerns an aircraft (1) equipped with a vertical tail unit (5) bearing a motor (7).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a vertical tail unit for an aircraft. More specifically, the present invention relates to a vertical tail unit equipped with an engine and an engine and empennage unit assembly. The invention finds application in the field of aviation, particularly in long-distance aircraft designed to transport large numbers of passengers. Background technique [0002] Currently, there are aircraft equipped with at least three engines. At least two engines are arranged in the rear wing section of the aircraft, while another engine, hereinafter referred to as the third engine, is arranged in the vertical tail unit of said aircraft. [0003] In the prior art, the presence of such a third engine forces the splitting of the vertical tail unit into two parts. More precisely, the fins of the vertical tail unit are formed in two parts, each part being separated from each other by the engine block. The fuselage-integrated bottom of the airfoil car...
