Embodiment Construction

[0033] As shown in Fig. 1, this embodiment mainly comprises a computer local area network LAN, which is preferably of Ethernet type on the link layer and TCP / IP type on the transport / network layer. A telephone exchange IPBX is connected to this local area network LAN to exchange telephone connections. Various types of telephone terminals are directly or indirectly connected to this local area network LAN:

[0034] - Fixed telephone terminals IPP1, IPP2 of Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) type, which transmit voice signals in Internet Protocol packets and are directly connected to the local area network LAN.

[0035] - Mobile telephone terminals MT1, MT2, eg of WiFi type, connected to the local area network LAN via standard WiFi wireless access points AP1, AP2.

[0036] - A fixed analogue telephone terminal, such as a terminal POT1, connected to the local area network LAN via a standard gateway GW1 for digitizing, compressing and converting analogue voice signals into Inter...

Abstract

The invention concerns a method which, upon an emergency call setup request from a given terminal (IPPI), consists in: assigning to said terminal a first virtual network (VLAN1) having higher priority than that of any virtual network to which is assigned a terminal requesting setting up of a non urgent call; the given terminal then using said first virtual network to transmit a message in broadcast mode, said message being addressed in particular to an emergency call server (EMSR); and assigning said terminal to a second virtual network (VLAN2) having higher priority than that of any virtual network to which is assigned a terminal requesting setting up of a non urgent call, the emergency call server (EMSR) then using said second virtual network to reply to the given terminal, in point-to-point mode. The invention is application to local telephone networks.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the transfer of emergency calls in a computer local area network. It is increasingly common for businesses to use the Internet Protocol as the network protocol to transmit telephone calls using computer local area networks. Background technique [0002] A computer local area network can be divided into several virtual networks that define groups of terminals that can exchange data between them, regardless of the physical structure of the network. For security reasons, it is also possible to restrict or prohibit data exchange between terminals belonging to different groups. A virtual network is simply a subnet defined by logical means. [0003] The IEEE 802.1Q standard describes how to define virtual networks in Ethernet. According to one of the methods described in this standard, a terminal sending a data packet in a virtual network associates with this packet a label comprising the identifier of the virtual network....
