Abstract

The invention provides a method for communication between a bearer independent call control protocol BICC and a session initiation protocol SIP, which comprises the following steps: a call media node CMN carries out interconversion to a BICC signal and an SIP signal used by alternating a forward station and a backward station and expands the SIP signal obtained from the interconversion; and the information of a user plane UP is carried in the SIP signal. The embodiment of the invention further provides a device for the communication between the BICC and the SIP. By using the embodiment of the invention and through the interconversion between the BICC signal and the SIP signal as well as the information of the user plane UP carried in the SIP signal, the media negotiation between the BICC and the SIP is achieved, and the problem of the network communication between the BICC and the SIP is solved.
