Abstract

The present invention discloses apparatuses and methods for transmitting and receiving timing information corresponding to updating parameters in an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) fragment. The parameters may be associated with a session of a program or service corresponding to the ESG fragment. In one example, the parameters may be updated and a timing information such as an RTP timestamp may be provided for indicating a time when the parameters may be loaded or implemented. In this example, when the RTP timestamp is greater than or equal to a timestamp of a data packet in a data stream, the time for the parameter change may have been achieved. At this time, the new or updated parameters may be loaded at a receiver.
