[0028] A package for a contact lens and a method for making the contact lens package are described herein. More specifically, disclosed is a package having a base, wherein the base, whether a boat-shaped base or a planar base, includes a color component to assist the patient in locating contact lenses and identifying contaminants that may be present in the package . According to an exemplary embodiment, the color composition is provided on the substrate by adding masterbatch additives to the homopolymer. Alternatively, according to one exemplary embodiment, the color composition is provided to the substrate by performing an overmolding tooling operation. Hereinafter, more details of the present exemplary substrate and methods of forming the same will be provided in detail.
