The invention relates to an automatic paper feeding device which comprises a paper feeding tray, a paper feeding channel, a paper taking module, a frictional wheel, a thickness detection module and a control unit. The paper taking module is driven to feed a file on the paper feeding tray into the paper feeding channel; the thickness detection module is used for detecting the thickness of the fileentering the paper feeding channel; and the control unit is used for judging whether multiple paper feeding happens. When the multiple paper feeding happens, the paper taking module reversely rotatesto feed the file to the paper feeding tray. The frictional wheel provides a smaller frictional force when the paper taking module reversely rotates so that the file is returned to the paper feeding tray.
