The preparation method comprises the steps of: cleaning and smashing immature fruit of medicine terminalia; adding 1 part by weight of the smashed immature fruit of medicine terminalia to 2 to 3 parts by weight of clear water, decocting for 1 to 2 hours at a temperature of between 70 and 80 DEG C and then filtering to obtain a first filtrate and dregs of immature fruit of medicine terminalia; adding 1 part by weight of the dregs of immature fruit of medicine terminalia to 2 to 3 parts by weight of clear water, decocting for 1 to 2 hours at a temperature of between 70 and 80 DEG C and then filtering to obtain a second filtrate; merging the resultant first and second filtrates and then evaporating at a temperature of between 90 and 100 DEG C to obtain powdery particles, and crushing the particles to 200 to 350 meshes to obtain the cigarette additive.
