Abstract

An image processing apparatus and an image processing method are provided. The image processing apparatus includes: an image detection circuit which generates a compression mode control signal according to a first frame; a compression circuit which compresses an image data of a second frame according to the compression mode control signal and stores the compressed image data of the second frame; a decompression circuit which reads the compressed image data of the second frame and decompresses the compressed image data of the second frame to generate a recovered image data of the second frame;an overdrive processing circuit which determines overdrive voltages of a third frame according to an image data of the third frame and the recovered image data of the second frame. The compression circuit compresses the block of the signal compression second frame based on the compression mode so as to use the bandwidth of the storing equipement in an effective way.
